In honor of our nation’s veterans, Duquesne Light participated in the city of Pittsburgh’s annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Three Duquesne Light vehicles were featured in the parade, including a Hybrid Bucket Truck, Chevy Volt and Digger Derrick. All vehicles were driven by DLC employee veterans. The Duquesne Light employees started the day by taking part in Duquesne University's annual Veterans Day breakfast, one of the largest of its kind in the state of Pennsylvania, which raises money for local veterans organizations.
Duquesne Light’s participation in these events is part of the Company’s continued commitment to attracting, retaining and recognizing top military talent. The Duquesne Light S.E.R.V.I.C.E. (Search, Engage and Recruit Veterans Into Civilian Employment) Committee and the Company’s Talent Acquisition team continue to play a significant role in these efforts.
Earlier this year, DLC was named one of the 2017 Most Valuable Employers for Military by RecruitMilitary, which acknowledges employers whose recruiting, training and retention plans best serve military service members and veterans.
