Duquesne Light Responds to Mutual Assistance Request from PSEG Long Island, N.Y.
26 team members leave for New York tonight.
PITTSBURGH – Duquesne Light Company has responded to a request for mutual assistance from PSEG Long Island, N.Y., in anticipation of electricity restoration due to the strong Nor’easter storm that’s expected to hit tonight and tomorrow.
“Duquesne Light is part of an established Mutual Assistance group where neighboring utility companies help one another with restoration after a damaging storm,” said Mike Doran, Vice President of Operations, Duquesne Light. “While our customers in Allegheny and Beaver counties are our top priority, we are always willing to provide support to other regions.”
With no severe weather expected for our service area through the weekend, Duquesne Light is sending 26 team members, including linemen, mechanics and a safety representative, to New York for 3-5 days. Crews will arrive mid-day tomorrow and begin work immediately.
