Every year, individuals across the United States celebrate the life of humanitarian and civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On that day, thousands of volunteers also donate their time to make a difference to honor his legacy as part of the Martin Luther King Day of Service.

Duquesne Light employees again participated in this annual event on Jan. 15, demonstrating their dedication to community service by volunteering their time at various Pittsburgh organizations through the Living the Dream project. This year, a total of 64 employees spent the day doing their part to make the communities in which we live and work a better place by volunteering at seven local charities and non-profit organizations: St. Barnabas Health System, the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, Auberle, the Education Partnership, Southwestern Veterans Center, the Franklin Center and Weinberg Village Assisted Living.
