Whether we’re starting initiatives that enhance quality of life or contribute to the region’s economic growth, our goal is the same — to build strong and vibrant communities where we all can be successful.  As part of that longstanding commitment, Duquesne Light is hosting a free Community Day at Carnegie Science Center on Sunday, March 25.  Our sponsorship includes free general admission, free parking (subject to availability), and a free film in The Rangos Giant Cinema.

During this special day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors will be able to explore four floors of hands-on exhibits, plus Highmark SportsWorks®, The Rangos Giant Cinema, a Miniature Railroad and Village®, the USS Requin (SS 481) Cold War-era submarine, and Buhl Planetarium. All exhibits are free that day.

In demonstration theaters, visitors can see live explosive reactions, discover the chemistry of cooking, and learn the basics of biology.

In The Rangos Giant Cinema, the movie Dream Big will show five times. Dream Big tells heartwarming stories about amazing engineering projects, and encourages the audience to reach for their dreams. Seats are first-come, first-served, subject to availability.

Highmark SportsWorks®, also included in free admission, offers sports-related interactive exhibits. Guests can traverse a climbing wall, challenge their speed with that of an Olympic sprinter, play a giant game of Operation, or determine the speed of their baseball swings, among other activities.

Parking, Planetarium, theater shows, and movies are subject to availability. Take note that the food and gift shop are not included.
