If you are behind on your utility bills, you may be able to avoid service disconnection or obtain restoration of electric service if there is a medical emergency in your household.  A medical emergency exists if you or a member of your household are seriously ill or have a medical condition that will be worsened if you do not have electricity.

Once a medical certificate is accepted, the postponement of pending disconnection of service or restoral of your electric service will be valid for a maximum of 30 days.  You still are responsible for paying your current bills or your budget billing amount during this time.

Complete DLC’s Medical Certificate Electronic Form or PDF Form* certifying that you or a member of your household has been diagnosed with a medical condition which requires continued service.

*Your medical provider can complete DLC’s form or supply their own.
