  • For qualifying projects, Allumia covers the upfront cost of equipment and installation.
  • Project costs are repaid over the contract term through monthly payments.
  • Monthly payments are designed to be less than or equal to the energy savings generated each month by the project — meaning your upgrade pays for itself from day one.

What is Energy Efficiency as a Service (EaaS)? EaaS is a shared savings model that allows businesses to reduce energy costs with no upfront investment. Allumia manages the planning, installation, financing, and maintenance of energy efficiency upgrades, while customers pay through a portion of the savings generated.

Qualifying Projects: Energy efficiency upgrades and equipment installations must be in existing commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

  • Total project costs between $40,000 and $1 million.
  • Multiple sites or buildings can be included in one project.

     
    Program and Financing Details

    How the Program Works: Five simple steps to complete efficiency projects and start saving.

    1. Sign up through Allumia’s online platform: Customers and contractors can both register through the DLC Commercial Concierge link. 
    2. Receive a Free Assessment: Allumia evaluates your facility and identifies opportunities to reduce energy costs.
    3. Review Your Custom Plan: Receive recommended upgrades, projected savings, and financing options for qualifying projects.
    4. Approve & Install: Allumia coordinates the project and works with qualified local contractors to complete the installation.
    5. Start Saving: Begin reducing energy costs while Allumia provides ongoing maintenance, monitoring and support.

    Project Financing: Customers enter into a service contract with Allumia to finance projects.
    • Allumia covers the upfront cost of the project, and customers repay the initial project cost & maintenance through monthly payments over the contract term.
    • Contracts are structured as service agreements rather than debt financing.
    • Contract term is typically 4-7 years and dependent on total cost of project and energy savings projected.
    • Payments are made directly to Allumia, not through the DLC electric bill.
