Duquesne Light Company partners with Dollar Energy Fund to help our customers in need through a utility grant of up to $500. DLC has expanded eligibility for Dollar Energy Fund to reach more families.
Check to see if you meet the income guidelines and eligibility requirements below and find a Dollar Energy Fund Community Screening Agency near you to apply.
To be eligible for Dollar Energy Fund, you must:
- Provide proof of your monthly household income (Federal Income Guidelines apply).
- Customers with income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines must apply first apply for LIHEAP before submitting an application for Dollar Energy Fund (check eligibility here).
- Make a payment of at least $150 toward your electric bill within 90 days of the date you apply for the grant. You will be asked to provide proof of payment(s).
- Senior citizens (62 years of age and over) must have paid at least $100 in the last 90 days or have made your last three consecutive payments.
- Have a balance on your utility bill of at least $100.
- Senior citizens (62 years of age and over) may have a $0 balance (not eligible for assistance if there is an existing credit on their account).
- Provide the Social Security Numbers of all members of your household.
- Your account must be a residential account and you must be an adult currently living in the household.
- If you have chosen an alternate supplier, a Dollar Energy Fund grant will not be used to pay the supplier portion of your bill.
